Our Story
Hi! Welcome to The Bare Necessities travel blog.
We are Jessica and Jeremy. From mouse ears to chocolate covered apples, and castles to cruise ships - if you haven’t guessed it, we are a Disney family.
Of course there is more to our story, but you’re here for the parks, rides, cruises, islands, and delectable snacks.
Now, let’s be honest. We were not always a Disney family. Jeremy was certainly resistant to vacationing at theme parks - but all that changed the first time we took our now eldest daughter to Walt Disney World when she was just one year old.
From that very moment, we were hooked. Disney World became our happy place, where as a family, we have created wonderful memories together.
Years later, we have set sail on the Disney Fantasy and Wish, become Annual Passholders, and are Disney Vacation Club members.
Let us share what we have learned exploring the parks, staying at the fantastic resorts, or sailing the high seas - and hopefully we can help you and your family too create a treasure trove of memories.
Meet Jessica
The Bare Necessities is more than just a travel blog. As a family, we are beyond fortunate that Jessica is also a licensed travel agent with Marvelous Mouse Travels, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner agency.
Jessica became a travel agent because of her love for all things Disney. She has traveled to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, sailed on the Disney Fantasy and Wish, and is a true Disney addict. If she is not at Disney World, she is certainly planning to get back there.
For Jessica, planning is half the fun! However she knows that not everyone enjoys this process, so she is here to help.
Jessica also has experience planning unique vacations to destinations that include Universal Orlando, Puerto Rico, Norway, Mexico, St. Lucia and much more! She can help plan a unique and magical vacation for you, your family, and your friends!

Meet Jeremy
More than ten years ago, Jessica convinced Jeremy that they were in need of a well-earned break, and that a trip to Walt Disney World was the only solution. Reluctant, but fully aware that resistance was futile, Jeremy agreed to board a plane bound for Disney…toddler in tow.
With a sprinkle of pixie dust, a heaping of magic, and plenty of cheek-to-cheek grins, Jeremy quickly realized he had found his happy place.
A decade later - and more trips than he’d probably care to admit - Jeremy is excited to share his experiences with others, so they too can discover the magic, wonder, and unforgettable moments that Disney has to offer.
